I’m a big sale shopper, I love the 60% off deals from The Limited, Banana Republic, and Express. I have so much clothes that I’ve tried to separate by seasons and only wear those items. Sounds like a good idea huh? But wait, sometimes it’s not! I end up putting away items and then re-buying them forgetting that I have something very similar stored away! I know my idea is good but I need to fine tune it. I’ve been searching the net and my favorite magazines for ideas on how to get my closet under control.
I’ve come across something called the capsule wardrobe, the theory is to use anywhere between 20 to 50 items to create enough looks to last you in the course of three months. I came across Caroline, a Minialist Fashion Blogger who runs her own website at www.un-fancy.com, her tip this winter is to use 37 items; 9 pairs of shoes, 9 bottoms, 15 tops, and 4 miscellaneous items. Now this fashionista lives in Texas, my home state, and the winter is very different compared to the East Coast cold. I’m going to give this a try, mix it up, only use what I have in my closet currently, and adjust to my cold winter. If it comes to the point where I need to replace an item, only then I can spend money.
Ok Caroline, I’m stealing your format with pride! If I can’t find a nice clean photo of my article of clothing (of something similar) online then readers you’ll just have to settle for my camera phone pic!
